Greetings and salutations! Welcome to my online portfolio.

A  lighting designer with over thirty years of experience, I have designed professionally in the areas of dance, opera, concerts, corporate events, theatre, musicals, casinos, theme parks, and trade shows. I am a proud member of the United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829.

For my "day job", I am a full professor of theatre, and the head of the Theatre Design and Technology program, at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. I have been teaching at Wright State for 19 years, and taught at Stockton College of NJ for 7 years prior to moving to southern Ohio. My graduates can be found working on Broadway as associate designers, assistant designers, and electricians, as well as with Cirque du Soliel and Blue Man Group in Las Vegas. My graduates are also working with the major regional opera, theatre, and dance companies around the country, and touring with major musical acts. They are the Entertainment Technology Manager for Royal Caribbean, with major production companies and casinos, and designing AV installations for museums and restaurant chains. And, more importantly,  they are a good bunch of folks.

I am a proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (MFA in Theatrical Design) and the North Carolina School of the Arts  (BFA in LIghitng Design).

I am more proud of being a member of an amazing family; my wife, Heather, daughters Taylor, Molly, and Kathryn, son Dylan, daughter-in-law Jennifer, and grandchildren Everett and Harper.
